$2 Tuesday |
$2 Tuesday is a great mission opportunity in conjunction with other local churches. Struggling families are screened, then their address is emailed church-wide. Participants place $2 in a UN-addressed envelope and mail it to the address. The addresses are sent out on Monday. Click here if you would like to participate in this giving opportunity. |
As we all know, The Summit was a church planted with outreach and missions in mind. We want to be a church that lives OUTSIDE the walls.

$10 Testimonies
My name is xxxxxxx xxxxxxx and I visited your church on Sunday, February 27th. Everyone was so warm and friendly and I truly enjoyed the message as well as the stories from those who had been on the Emmaus Walk. I am excited to report the results of my mission work that I was able to do with the money that I received. My daughter had mentioned to me a project called Food for Thought that encourages the collection of canned goods to be used by a food bank in the Birmingham metro area. This year the program was done in conjunction with Read Across America and the Alabama Education Association. Those who participated in this project would receive books for their schools' library. I encouraged my daughter to partner with me and together we donated 50 plus canned goods to this cause. Our donations were given to the Albertville Primary School who will in turn receive 15-20 new books for their library. Our donations became a part of the collection of over 5000 lbs. of food. Even though the food went outside of Marshall County, I feel happy knowing that our school will be rewarded for their participation. That $10 will not only help to feed needy people; it will help our young people feed their minds.
Thank your for the chance to be a part of something so great! It is nice to know that I can still contribute and make a difference.
Sincerely,

When I received my 10 dollars I immediately began thinking of the things I could do with it.
On my way home from church that Sunday morning I called my wife as I usually do, she began telling me a story about several students in her class that come from very low income families and have a difficult time coming up with money to take field trips.
One of these was a very precious little girl who was hit by a car when she was 3 and has very traumatic brain injuries, she has spent her early years in school basically relearning how to speak.
I gave my wife my $10 dollars and told her to give it to this angel so that she could enjoy the smiles and laughs with the rest of her friends.
It was such a blessing for me to be able to help someone in the way I did during this experience.
Thank you to my church family and pastor for allowing me the opportunity.
Love You All,

It is sometimes quite odd how an opportunity presents itself, but following Sunday's $10 Mission Challenge, I received a call from my daughter at XXXXX and she was upset that friends of hers from school had suffered a house fire. These are 19-20 yr old college students renting an older duplex (it was an electrical fire). No one suffer any injures but they did suffer loss of place of living (temporary), personal items and every thing in their refrigerator due to power being cut. So I took the $10 and added to it to send these young people $100 to resupply their refrigerator.
